Carolina Seed Systems is an agricultural technology company focused on developing advanced genomic and bioinformatic technologies to deliver better seed to farmers. Beginning with our first product, grain sorghum, Carolina Seed Systems drives profitability for growers and their customers.

About us

Driving productivity for growers and end-users for more sustainable agriculture. Better seed. Better system.

Carolina Seed Systems Team

Carolina Seed Systems team exists to increase profitability for growers and their customers by delivering fit for market solutions to enhance value of the agricultural supply chain. Because the most value enhancement come from having the best seed, selection from natural variation (non GMO) is at the heart of our product development. Why Sorghum?

Sorghum is a highly nutritious ancient cereal grain used for a variety of foods, feeds and even fuels. Sorghum, also called milo, has a similar energy value of corn, a favorable amino acid profile, and high levels of health-promoting metabolites and antioxidants. All US sorghum is both non-GMO and tannin-free. Because this forgotten super grain requires less water, pesticides, and is more drought tolerant, it is more resilient than other cereal grains. Sorghum's combination of nutritious grain and high-quality biomass provides excellent habitat for wildlife while providing an economically sustainable option for farmers.

Technology

Advanced Biology for Sustainable Crops

We develop and deploy an advanced biology non-GMO approach to leverage natural crop diversity and genomic-enabled technologies allowing for the creation of unique products to address economic opportunities and climate vulnerabilities. This combination of biology, engineering, and advanced computing enables us to understand individual genes, markers, and traits at an unprecedented level of resolution and scale.

Grain for a More Resilient Supply Chain

We employ an advanced biology non-GMO approach to leverage natural crop diversity and marker-assisted genomic-enabled technologies allowing for the creation of unique products to address economic opportunities and climate vulnerabilities. This combination of biology, engineering, and advanced computing enables us to understand individual genes, markers, and traits at an unprecedented level of resolution and scale.

Agriculture for a Better Future

CSS is committed to providing growers the seed they need to succeed in a highly volatile market and environment. Our seed’s inherent resiliency reduces productivity risk to improve on-farm profitability while providing long-term benefits to the land. In essence, out technology platform provides the seed needed for the new regenerative agriculture revolution.
